This year, Doylestown Presbyterian Church's mission committee is sponsoring four young girls in Pakistan so that they may attend secondary school. Most girls in Pakistan are not able to attend school, or must drop out at a very young age because of social and family obligations, or because an education is financially beyond their means. As a result, many young women are uneducated and unable to read, and continue to be repressed. Because Pakistan is 95% Muslim, Christian children also face barriers in being able to practice and learn about their faith. The Presbyterian Education Board's schools provide young girls in Pakistan the opportunity to get a quality education informed by Christian values, regardless of their ability to pay.
