Mission trips allow us to live with and learn from our brothers and sisters in other parts of the country and around the world while sharing their struggles with hunger, poverty, natural disaster. We offer a helping hand, but most imporantly, we offer an open heart to all that we meet. There are opportunities for everyone to be invovled with mission trips at DPC, including participating in a trip, praying for trip particpants and for those whom with they will be working, and helping to provide supplies and support for volunteers.
A list of upcoming DPC mission trips and other opportunities to serve can be found below.
Neshaminy-Warwick Presbyterian Church is planning a trip to Lumberton, NC, from November 5-11 to help with Hurricane Matthew restoration. There are several DPC members attending, and more are welcome to join!
Are you interested in going on an international mission trip to help others in need? Discovery Service Projects, a local Christian mission organization, will be hosting a trip to Costa Rica from February 10 – March 3 to work with Rice and Beans Ministries. Volunteers will construct a dormitory to house teams as volunteers, as well as assemble food bags, which will be delivered to people who do not have enough to eat. You may choose to go for 1-3 weeks, and all logistics are handled by Discovery Service Projects.
No experience is necessary for this trip, and families are encouraged to attend! Volunteers may choose to go to Costa Rica for anywhere from one to five weeks. The cost of the trip is $1,300. This covers airfare, room (dorm style), and most meals. All arrangements are made by Discovery Service Projects.
Several groups from DPC have gone on this trip, returning with life-changing stories, both for themselves and for the people they have served.
If you are a DPC member and are interested in going on a mission trip but are in need of financial assistance, we encourage you to apply for scholarship funding from the mission committee. The form is available here or in the church office.
