Celebrate the Arts

 

We are pleased to introduce to you the 2012-2013 Celebrate the Arts season at Doylestown Presbyterian Church.  All Musical performances are free and open to all who are interested in attending.  A free-will offering is received and there is a reception in the Celtic Cross Room following each performance.  We do hope you will join us for one, two, or all of these exciting concerts.  Bring a friend, too!  If you are interested in becoming a Friend of the Arts at DPC, please contact our financial secretary ( This email address is being protected from spambots. Musical Offerings

March 10 — 4 p.m.Organ Recital by Jinhee Shim

Great organ works from masters of the Baroque, Romantic and Contemporary periods will be played by DPC's outstanding organist on our beautiful 52-rank Schantz organ. Reception to follow in the Celtic Cross Room.

April 21 — 4 p.m.DPC's Festival Choir and Orchestra

Join the Doylestown Presbyterian Church's Festival Choir, Orchestra, and soloists as they perform Mozart's "Coronation Mass" and other uplifting and inspirational sacred choral music. Under the direction of David J. Fitzpatrick, this concert promises to offer a wonderful afternoon of choral masterpieces and the culmination of our 2012-2013 Celebrate the Arts series. Reception to follow in the Celtic Cross Room.

 

Noontime Brown Bag Music

On two Wednesdays during Advent and three Wednesdays during Lent instrumental and vocal music will be offered at noon for your quiet reflection and meditation. Refreshments will be served in the Celtic Cross Room following the music presentations.

Visual Arts

The Celtic Cross Room of the DPC Sanctuary building serves as a gallery for our visual arts exhibits which are on display during the program year and concurrently with each Celebrate the Arts program. Come and see these beautiful expressive works of art whenever the building is open or by appointment.

Lenten Exhibit: "Looking at God's People and Places in the World
                                  February 17, 2013 – March 31, 2013

Christian artist, Louise Peardon, has traveled extensively throughout the world and has been touched by the stamp of God reflected in people and places. Through her photography she expresses her vision and feelings of the blessings that are available to us all if we just take time to see them.

Spring Display: Quilts with a Purpose -- April 1, 2013 – June 15, 2013

Many of DPC's outstanding quilt makers joined by friends from the community have a quiet mission. They quilt for others. On display will be Quilts of Valor for wounded soldiers, Prayers and Squares for the sick, Caring Quilts for BC Housing Group, Camp Erin Quilts for grieving kids, Chop Quilts for Children's Hospital and quilts for our mission to Native Americans. Come and see stewardship in action – beautiful gifts of love – before they are given away.
