Doylestown Community Food Collection

Let’s Get Excited for DPC’s First Ever  Doylestown Community Food Collection!

July 26: Bag Drop Off to Homes; July 28: Bag Collection

Volunteer for this unique experience today!

For years, DPC members and friends have generously donated to those in need through our monthly Food Drive. While those efforts will continue every third Sunday of the month, the Mission Committee is organizing a special community food collection later this month – and you have the opportunity to help make it happen!

We are seeking volunteers to help drop off shopping bags to about 500 homes in Doylestown Borough (you will be given the locations and a map of your assigned houses). Attached to the bags will be a letter explaining that any food put in the bags will be collected and delivered to the Bucks County Housing Group’s Doylestown Food Pantry—which has a great need for donations during this season.

Two days later, volunteers will visit those same homes to pick up any bags filled with food and leave a thank-you.

Volunteers will be placed in teams to work different locations and you can sign up to help with:

  • bag drop off (Friday, July 26, at 6:30 pm, 1.5 hour time commitment)
  • or food pickup (Sunday, July 28, at 10:30 am, 3-hour time commitment)
  • or both!

The task is fun and easy, perfect for families or small groups, and only calls for a short time commitment.
