Southwest Diaries, June 2022 – Day 3
In today’s entry we let images tell the story. Our crew remains hard at work, helping at the Community Pantry in Gallup while also taking time to fully explore and appreciate the surrounding land and culture!
Some details from Christen: Day 3 pantry in the morning and a trip to Tohaali School in the afternoon. Americans for Native Americans supports the school with food for kids, a weekend backpack program, and school supplies. Kim Keller brought them a health kit box from J&J. The prayer shown in one photo as the last thing kids see when they leave the dorm building to go to school.
The group photo with the gentleman was from Toadlena Trading post, as is the pic of Riley crouched with the statue and of Youngs in the Post. This gentleman was a beloved storyteller.
